Another gummy from Japan, another tasty candy.  This time it’s no different, with yet another World Market find.  Made by Kanro in Japan, these are their “Pure” gummies.

Pictured above we have grape, peach, and strawberry.  I get what they’re going for with regards to the name, but ARE they pure?  I have to say…the ingredients list aint bad at all: Sugar, Millet Jelly, Gelatin, Concentrated Lemon Juice, Collagen Peptide, Citric Acid, Pectin, Flavor, Calcium Carbonate, Ascorbic Acid, Carotene Color.  The “flavor” item disturbs me, but all I’m saying is these do actually fall on the natural side of the ingredients divide.  Here’s a bigger view:

So here’s the deal: they say on the bag that they’re “sour & fruity”- and they are.  The flavor is a punch in the face, and you definitely get a large dose of sour with each one.  The grape is that classic Japanese grape flavor.  The peach is a good example of peach candy, it’s very fragrant.  The strawberry was the least booming of the flavors for me, but still, it definitely was good, and the longer it was in my mouth, the more strawberry I seemed to get.  they all have a big whallop of sour tang.

The only thing I’d say about these is that for some reason, if you’re eating them in a mix with other candies, the flavor of these can somehow get a bit lost.  I don’t know why, I’m not even sure it makes sense, but that’s what I experienced the other night.  When I first ate them alone, I really got a full dose of the individual flavors, but not so much when eating other candy.  It could have been that the other candy was too strong and overpowered these, but these are pretty darn strong too.  The sourness still comes through, but the flavor drowns a bit.  Anyhow, individual mileage may vary.

These are good, and you won’t feel TOO shitty giving them to your kids.  If you have a World Market near you, definitely pick some up.  If you have to order online, there’s a link below.  They’re definitely going to be more expensive than World Market-by about twice-but if you’re a Japanese gummy fan, you’ll definitely find them a worthwhile buy.
