There’s someone out in the etherwebs that thinks the fruit and nut Kind snacks are a form of candy.
Gotta be honest with you: it ain’t me. I mean I like these things just fine for the right snack at the right time. But don’t you dare act all mommmy on me like I’m 8 years old, pushing your carob snacks as if they’re chocolate, lauding your fig bars as if they’re dessert. They’re not, so just stop it.
But when you need some protein, some sugar, some energy if you will. When you want more than just a dash of a sweet because you need to satisfy a hunger pang with something better for you than a Snickers and something bigger than a Thin Mint. Well then the Kind snacks might be right up your alley.
This particular one is Peanut Butter & Strawberry, and funnily – even after applauding Kind snacks overall in the last paragraph – I don’t love this flavor. I expected it to be like a healthier version of your tried and true peanut butter and jelly samwidge. Unfortch, the peanut butter isn’t overt enough, more peanut than butter. And interestingly, more almond than peanut, because it’s loaded with almonds. Very little salt too, which is good for your blood but bad for your taste buds; it means the flavor isn’t on point. The strawberry is a relic of real jam but I’d like a bit more volume. Still, there’s enough on the bar to get your fingers sticky.
If all natural is your thing then Kind is your thing. These are made with all sorts of nuts including tree nuts so do the allergy math before you procure, but there’s no processed sugar in there. The ingredients are pretty straight forward, which I appreciate.
These are good. Not great. They make you feel good about yourself because you’re eating healthy, so THAt’s great. I’ve had other kind bars and loved them. Like the Dark Chocolate, Nuts and Sea Salt. Should have reviewed those, huh!
