Fruitella Soft Gummies, Naturally

Puree in candy? Sounds uppity. Luckily with candy we care about flavor - not vocabulary.

Gummies vs Jellies. There’s a debate going on.

Fruitella soft gummies. yum.

Gummies can be on the softer side, but tend to be best when chewy and hard.

Jellies are soft by design, often like a creamy jell-o. They break down in your mouth fast when you eat them. Suck on them and they dissolve.

Both gummies and jellies get harder if you leave them out, or do what we do: throw them in the fridge in an already-opened package.

Whichever candy type you like best, can we all agree that when the flavor is good, you can like them both?

Because these Fruitella Soft Gummies (which are really jellies) are damn good.

And the reason they are so tasty is that they’re made with puree. Real fruit. And it tastes like it, which I found surprising and quite novel for a manufactured sweet treat.

I categorized these as healthy snacks…and…ok let’s be honest…it’s not like you’re eating carob or carrots: This is candy. But, it has no high-fructose corn syrup. Only apple, strawberry and raspberry puree with some regular sugar. Also, no tree nuts nor peanuts, or artificial flavors and colors. The taste felt ‘natural’ and the flavors on point. Plus, the 90 calories per 7 gummies is pretty darned good. Each candy is about the size of 3/4 of my thumb. Which, if you don’t know me, is super unhelpful.

Whether you procure Fruitella Soft Gummies or not — and I recommend you do — it may come down to texture. As a gummy guy, I may have initially passed on these. But as a candy guy, I dig right in.
