Yeah I said it. Warheads are trash. Little kids love them, and what do we know about little kids? They’re dumb. Toxic Waste — Warheads’ closest competitors — are SO much better than Warheads, but no one seems to buy them. Yet Warheads prevail: they’re everywhere. Especially in Dollar Stores, because they’re cheap trash like Dollar Stores.

Do I sound bitter? Because really, I’m not. I’ve just been disappointed by so many Warheads products over the years, always hoping this one would be the “good” one. So I did it to myself again, this time with their sour taffy. Or did I?

This Warheads Sour Taffy version is a “Tropical” flavor, and oddly, they also added that it’s orange & pineapple. I thought that’s what the “tropical” conveyed, but I’m getting in the weeds here. Point is, I picked this one because it had orange. I like orange.

It’s a pretty beefy bar, kinda like a Big Hunk or Abba Zabba size:

It’s not soft, but it is somewhat pliable:

And holy shit my friends, I…am a bit stunned. I liked this. A lot.

Let me get this out of the way though, this is about as sour as a Warhead after two minutes. Maybe that’s too harsh, because it is in fact tart, which is absolutely fine with me. I don’t need everything to be Sour sour sour. Most importantly, the Warheads Sour Taffy Tropical flavor, and chew, is some kinda awesome. I was expecting to take one bite, have it be super mid, and then write another scathing review. But I can’t do that! I’d buy this again! And frankly, now I want to try the other flavors too.

UPDATE: I tried the other flavors too. Strawberry & Kiwi and…it’s even better than the orange & pineapple. Slightly more sour, bigger flavors. Outstanding. I froze the bar, took it out of the freezer, dropped it on the counter, and poured the shattered contents into a ramekin to swiftly shove down my throat: I recommend this process!

If you like chewy taffy, and you can handle something solidly tart but not sour, this might scratch an itch for you. You can find them everywhere, but here’s a handy link .

I suppose this is the time where I apologize to Big Warheads® for talking so much shit, but…not gonna happen. They deserve all of it. But this is a good start. Let’s keep this trend going, Warheads.
