Mike & Ike SOUR-Licious Fruit Punch

What's old is new again-or rather, what's new is old. Apparently. Like Inception.

It was a normal Saturday, which meant errands.  So there I was, walking down the candy aisle in Target, hoping to see something new.  When suddenly…i did!

Only thing is, I didn’t.  As soon as I got these home and opened them up, it dawned on me that I’d seen these before.  Like…here:

But…but…the new ones say “Fruit Punch”, so clearly, it’s a flavor variation on the old, orange-box ones?  I KNOW, THAT’S WHAT I THOUGHT TOO.  Turns out it’s not-they both have the exact same flavors.

So basically, …your boy got played.  To the tune of $1.33, dammit!!  Not to mention that I bought the other flavor they had on sale, the green apple, which of course is the same as the old green apple as well.
The good news here is that both of these varieties are pretty excellent.  A high level of sour, really good tastes, and nothing you don’t need.  I’m pretty sure they’d also survive a nuclear holocaust as well, which is a nice thing for food products.

Is this even a review?  A re-review?  I’m finally confusing even myself, but for more words on these fine candies, go here: I SAID HERE!

I wonder how often candy companies change the package and keep the recipes the same. Might be a good Guru’s Investigates segment.
