You know we don’t usually write about candy without eating it first but I thought this was a nice thing for the holiday season and wanted to give you all a heads up.

As you pore over Amazon and brave the mall crowds, you can make some of the buying a little easier on yourself and give back to a good cause. The True Blue Candy Cane Company, sells pretty cool looking red, white and blue candy canes made by Hammond’s, and gives 25% of the profits to the family members of the US Marine Corps.

The web site is a bit uber pro-American for me. I generally prefer to be “for the world” and not just my country. However, I think the US Armed Forces aren’t given the credit they are due, and that includes the proper funding to ensure they can take care of themselves and their families when they are back from their calls of duty. Buying the candy canes will at least do a little to help out.
