Over the tweeters we got a mention from TitleMax that had an infographic outlining the top Halloween candy in each of the 50 U.S. states.
Not entirely sure the connection between managing a loan — what TitleMax does — and eating loads of sweets but I appreciated the information, and now I’m sharing it with you all.
The data is culled from the good people at CandyStore.com, who analyzed 14 years of Halloween candy sales data, from 2007 to 2021.
A few take-aways from this candy lover dude:
- The most popular Halloween candy overall? Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Hey, if you’re going with the tried and true, no argument from me.
- My childhood might have been better if I lived in Portland. In Oregon, full-sized candy bar giving to trick-or-treaters is the norm.
- Super surprising? Candy Corn is the #10 most loved Halloween candy. I actually like Candy Corn but most people I know can’t stand it. And 10 might seem far down the list but it’s just two places after Snickers…
- North Dakota and Arizona have Hot Tamales at the top of their lists. Good on them.

I know you like to “age” Red Vines and other candy. The thing with candy corn is … that is the worst for it. Fresh candy corn – especially the pumpkins – is a delight and I won’t be convinced otherwise.
Me too. Yes. +1. Yr right.
